Little Sesame Is Re-Emerging In A Downtown Standalone Location (Eater)

  • News

Fast-casual hummus eatery Little Sesame is getting a second life this spring, this time at 1828 L Street NW.

The tiny Middle Eastern shop originally sat a couple blocks north in Dupont Circle, inside the upscale Jewish deli DGS Delicatessen that shuttered in February. Little Sesame’s new 1,400-square-foot location will be a 180 from the original window-less subterranean space, going for a sun-drenched and airy vibe. A rendering is not yet available.

Co-owners Nick and David Wiseman, who also operate Whaley’s in Navy Yard and Hill Prince in the Atlas District, are partners with Israeli native Ronen Tenne on Little Sesame.

Edit Lab at Streetsense is charged with the design, and the team recently traveled to Israel for inspiration. The menu will be strikingly similar to its first location, with hummus bowls, pita sandwiches, salads, sides, and desserts. Hours will likely be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
