Strategic Plan by Streetsense Public Non-Profit Solutions & Partners Featured in the News

Union Square is the City of San Francisco’s premier and storied central shopping district. When MIG and Streetsense joined forces to develop a Strategic Plan for the Union Square Alliance, a non-profit Business Improvement District, the impacts of COVID-19, including the loss of office workers and decimation of the tourism industry, together with issues of safety and homelessness, had created significant challenges for the district.

With a 35% vacancy rate, as well as a decline in foot traffic and sales receipts, we knew that the plan could not be about a single silver bullet. A successful plan would include strategies that required partnerships with community leaders, City and elected officials – a complex set of partners for a complex set of problems.

Learn more about how this plan will help restore the dynamic ecosystem of Union Square in The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Francisco Business Times, Fox KTVU San Francisco, and San Francisco Mayor London Breed.
