Aguasal, a new signature coastal dining destination from José Andrés Group, blends Mediterranean flair with Miami’s vibrant energy in a breezy, elevated beachfront setting at the Andaz.
Tasked with crafting a brand for the signature restaurant at Andaz Miami Beach, Streetsense set out to capture the breezy elegance of coastal living with a Mediterranean soul. Drawing on the iconic location and culinary creativity of José Andrés Group, the brand needed to express a laid-back yet elevated dining experience that blends Miami’s sun-soaked energy with the rustic flavors of the Mediterranean coast. The result: Aguasal — a name rooted in the Spanish word for “salt water,” evoking both the nearby Atlantic and the spirit of discovery that defines the restaurant’s all-day fare.
Inspired by the convergence of Miami, Majorca, and Mykonos, the branding for Aguasal channels a sun-washed coastal sensibility through every detail — from the typography and color palette to menu design and environmental graphics. We created a visual identity that feels as transportive as the cuisine itself, bringing warmth, lightness, and sophistication to life across signage, collateral, and digital touchpoints. Elevated yet approachable, the brand reflects the ethos of José Andrés Group while creating a singular, sense-driven experience at the edge of the ocean.
The menu system for Aguasal was designed to reflect the restaurant’s vibrant, coastal character while elevating the dining experience through thoughtful design and tactile detail. The menus feature clean layouts, warm-toned accents, and subtle textures that evoke natural materials like sand and linen. From brunch to dinner to cocktails, each menu was tailored to its service style and content, allowing the cuisine to shine while reinforcing the restaurant’s breezy sophistication and approachable luxury.
