Known as the entertainment and retail centerpiece of Eastern Prince William County, Stonebridge is a premier lifestyle center in Woodbridge, home to a range of distinguished dining, reliable services, and thrilling entertainment experiences. With esteemed tenants such as Wegmans, Zoe’s Kitchen, and the Apple Store, the destination boasts a curated selection of leading national retailers and restaurants. However, the arrival of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema prompted several tenants to vacate, signaling the need for a holistic refresh for Stonebridge of both its brand and built environment.

Approach/
In order to reinvigorate an activated center point of the lifestyle hub, Stonebridge must serve as a vibrant, year-round gathering space, programmed for newcomers and repeat visitors alike. From the first blooms of spring through the shifting winds of fall, the grand lawn turns into a delightful venue for concerts and weekly al fresco movies. To curb the chill of the winter months, the lawn gives way to a community ice rink, fostering heart-warming moments between friends and family. Smaller, more intimate pocket parks have been added throughout the project to introduce lush greenery and enhance walkability. A linear, family-friendly “Play Park” has the crucial role of attracting patrons with children from Wegmans for a moment of fun before meandering through the rest of the center.
Environmental Graphics and Wayfinding/
To further improve the visitor experience, a new series of environmental graphics and wayfinding signage was developed to inform and direct guests to Stonebridge’s assortment of offerings. Bolstered by its striking brand and design improvements, the work of Streetsense is transforming the space into a revitalized and engaging retail destination.
