Last week, our own Rosie Haslem (Managing Director, Streetsense UK) and Maki Kawaguchi (Managing Director, Streetsense Continental Europe) were invited to host a workshop at the first edition of the Future 4 Cities festival in Milan – an event designed to provoke exploration and imagination around the trajectory of urbanism and place shaping.
Kicking off with a discussion about Streetsense’s holistic approach to creating, activating and transforming places, the session culminated in a series of interactive, creative exercises to put the approach into action. Using the event’s venue, Base Milano, as a “laboratory,” the 130 participants were challenged to explore the site through a number of lenses, and then collectively develop new ‘place visions’ for its future.
The range of viewpoints and voices in the room led to the creation of rich, multi-layered place narratives, exemplifying the value of a holistic approach to place, and thinking from – and for – diverse perspectives.
The Streetsense Place Consulting Team leverages our strategic and creative advisory services to solve complex real estate issues that enhance the value of places—whether they are new mixed-use developments, assets facing challenges, vibrant districts, or captivating destinations.
