Creating a Forward-Looking Throwback Concept
Streetsense was tapped by Chef Michael Schlow to concept, brand, and design The Riggsby, an eclectic American restaurant with a nostalgic dining experience evocative of fine dining during the 1940’s.
The creative team worked closely with the chef to create a vintage-inspired value proposition for The Riggsby — a name derived from Riggs Place, the street intersecting the restaurant. From the logo to the layout, the millwork to the furniture, Streetsense infused just the right amount of nostalgia and thoughtfully transformed spatial limitations into opportunities. Despite its sophistication, The Riggsby doesn’t take itself too seriously — whimsical pieces, such as a tweed-inspired logo and a keyhole-shaped door, are at once glamorous and down-to-earth.
